Tobie Mining & Energy is presently exploring reservoir opportunities in Colombia, South America. Tobie’s hydrocarbon recovery side of our Energy Division, actively searches for primary, secondary and especially tertiary exploration and extraction opportunities. Our tertiary efforts in extraction are innovative and swiftly convert an often difficult or even abandoned well into a producing asset.

Gold

Gold was probably first found on the ground and used by prehistoric man as a tool. The first known use of gold was in parts of central and eastern Europe, in 4000BC. Highly sophisticated gold art objects and jewelry dating back to around 3000BC have been discovered by archaeologists in the Sumerian Royal Tombs at Ur, in what is now southern Iraq.

Gold, like no other metal, has a fascinating history and a special place in the world. It is used in a range of every day applications essential to modern life.
